Objects must make themselves understood if they are to remain close, not through instruction or explanation, but through the way they inhabit space, the way they wait to be touched, the way they seem to know us. A sustainable object that does not connect is like a well-built sentence that says nothing. To endure, it must be more than responsible, it must be felt. And a feeling cannot be programmed. Love, after all, is not in the object, but in what the object allows us to see in ourselves.
